Friends of Children’s Center to host 14th annual spring luncheon. February 27, 2008.Flyer PDF

The Friends of Children's Center will hold their annual spring luncheon benefiting Children's Center at the Red Lion Hotel on the River (909 N. Hayden Island Drive Portland, OR 97217) on Wednesday, February 27, starting 11:00 AM. Guests will have the opportunity to browse vendors, and enter an amazing raffle.

Sherri McMillan, M.Sc, owner of Northwest Personal Training, will be the guest speaker and will discuss how we can all achieve our Personal Best.  Ms. McMillan was voted one of the top 100 most Powerful Woman in the Area, International Fitness Director and Personal Trainer of the Year and her company was awarded the 2006 BBB “Business of the year”.  Sherri travels around the globe as a passionate speaker inspiring the world to fitness and is co-author of numerous books including "Go For Fit - The Winning Way to Fat Loss" and "Fit over Forty – The Winning Way to Lifetime Fitness." Sherri has written fitness columns for The Columbian, the Vancouver Business Journal, The Oregonian, Shape, Self, Health and Fitness Magazine.  In October 2007, Sherri organized the extremely successful Girlfriends Half Marathon in downtown Vancouver. This 1st event benefited the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure.

All proceeds benefit the programs of Children's Center, a private, non-profit MENTAL HEALTH agency that serves children and families of Clark County.

Can you be a “Partner”?

Friends of Children’s Center invites individuals and businesses to partner with us in providing services in our community.  One of the ways that you can help is to be a “Community Partner.”  By contributing a minimum of $500 you can become a Community Partner and help ensure that no family seeking help is ever turned away due to lack of resources.  Community Partners receive two spaces at the Friends of Children’s Center Luncheon, recognition in the event program, on www.thechildrenscenter.org, and in a post-event ad in the Columbian newspaper.  Please consider become a Community Partner today.  Call 699-2244 for more information or to sign up.

FRIENDS OF CHILDREN'S CENTER HOST ANNUAL GARDEN EVENT FUNDRAISER

"A Magical Evening in the Garden"

A "Magical Evening in the Garden" took place in the beautiful
gardens at the home of Dr. Paul and Margaret Kretschmar, on Sunday, September 16, 2007,
Guests had the opportunity to tour the gardens, listen to a musical ensemble under the direction of Melodie
Horn, enjoy catering donated by local chef Muggs Broselle, and bid on
amazing auction items. Kelly Bruce of Salut Wine Company in Camas,
Washington, and Columbia Distributing presented the wonderful wines for
the evening.

All proceeds benefit the programs of Children's Center, a private,
non-profit MENTAL HEALTH agency that serves children and families of
Clark County.

Despite the clouds and a bit of drizzle, 120 guests attended and $44,000
was raised!
