How We Measure Success
Children’s Center is deeply aware of the need to measure the effectiveness of services. We want to know if the services we provide to families are bringing about the change they want to see in their lives. As such, we use two valid and reliable measurement tools called the Outcome Rating Scale and Session Rating Scale (ORS/SRS) that actively involve clients as valued partners in tracking our work together.
Using the ORS/SRS questionnaire, Children’s Center measures the rate of progress with the youth and his/her family members at the beginning of every session and throughout the treatment process. This provides the clinician and family with real-time feedback, allowing the clinician to collaborate with the family to note early signs of progress or, in some cases, the need to change direction in therapy. Research has shown that real time feedback about the services can up to double effectiveness. Thus, we are in a position to make immediate adjustments in our approach to maximize the likelihood of a successful outcome.
