A message from the Children’s Center Board of Directors-
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic we have seen increased acts of harassment and violence against members of the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities around our nation. These acts have taken a variety of forms including the use of racial slurs, discriminatory behavior and physical attacks. Our deepest sympathy to all who have been impacted and who have suffered by these violent acts as well as countless related aggressions rooted in intolerance and hatred. Please accept our deepest condolences to those who have friends, family members who have been victims of these hate crimes. The Board of Children’s Center condemns all such racially motivated and xenophobic acts of harassment and violence. The killing of eight people in Atlanta reminds us of the need to speak out against the rise in hate crimes and against the trauma inflicted on members of our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities and we offer our support to all facing such pressure. This past year has been unrelenting. But we are stronger when we stand together to face down the gender bias and racism that affect our nation.
